What is RoHS?
The RoHS Directive stands for "the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment". This Directive bans placing new electrical and electronic equipment on the EU market that contains more than agreed upon levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.
Manufacturers need to understand the requirements of the RoHS Directive to ensure that their products, and their components comply. Although not a requirement in North America, companies that are RoHS compliant show a global commitment to improving the environment.

What is LEED ® ?
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED ®) Green Building Rating System™ encourages global acceptance of sustainable green building and advanced practices by creating and implementing universally accepted tools and performance criteria. LEED ® promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: 1) sustainable site development, 2) water savings, 3) energy efficiency, 4) materials selection and 5) indoor environmental quality.
LEED ® green building projects have become increasingly popular in North America & Worldwide. PSB has specified green products in many LEED ® condo projects in the US and Canada. LEED ® certification depends in part upon: limiting energy consumption, water savings and improving indoor environmental quality. PSB brands each take part in contributing to achieving LEED ® certification for building projects.
