October 30, 2007 2007 has been a great year for Pacific Specialty Brands. We have not any new product lines but have expanded the number of locations where our brands can be purchased. The product lines we sell have also added products to their selection so we have much more to offer. Amongst some of the new products we have introduced during 2007 are: - Liebherr’s 143 bottle wine cooler is just arriving. There are three temperature zones and looks beautiful. It should be on display in stores before the end of the year. Liebherr has more new product coming in 2008. Watch for more exciting products soon! - The new AEG steam oven has been a big hit. It has all the features of more expensive units at a price that is affordable. Also, AEG is just now introducing their 30” induction cook top. It will be available in stores soon. - This Fall we introduced Blomberg’s tall tub dishwashers. The tall tub version promises to be an even greater success than the standard tub has been. After the dishwashers we started to introduce the Blomberg refrigeration. These are just starting to come available. - FCI has shipped their new 36” gas and electric cook tops. These are very attractively styled and are very functional. These are starting to show on dealer floors now. - We also introduced Marvel’s new electronic Chateau series. These promise to be even more reliable (amazingly) than the previous models. They also look better which is a bonus. These have been gradually getting out on display over the Fall months. - We are also in the process of introducing the Legacy Suite from AGA. This is probably not going to make it out on display in a lot of areas until early next year but is available. This matching kitchen offers a very attractive look in keeping with the AGA tradition. There is more coming in the early part of 2008. We will update as often as possible. Please watch for details! In addition to this we have set dates for AGA demonstrations (you can check the AGA web site: www.aga-ranges.com for these dates or call Jodi at 604-430-5253, ext.103). We have one a month and you can register at any time by calling Jodi at the above number. Lastly, in an effort to offer better service to everyone we have added a new employee. Her name is Trista McIver. Trista has a long history in the appliance business (her family has owned a retail store in Vancouver for many years). Through her background she has acquired much knowledge and is more than happy to help any time. Trista is working in a number of different capacities at this time. She can help with parts and service issues as well as being the primary contact at PSB for freight related issues and B-stock. We are located at 7595 Lowland Drive in Burnaby, B.C. Our phone number is 877-430-5253 (or 604-430-5253 in Vancouver. If you have any questions or would like a brochure please call or send an e-mail to mprak@pacificspecialtybrands.com. The showroom is under construction, but is open from 8:30AM to 4PM Pacific Standard Time Monday to Friday by appointment only.
February 27, 2007LIEBHERR FIRST IN RoHS COMPLIANCE WORLDWIDEAnother Significant Environmental Milestone from the Global Leader in RefrigerationFrom June 2007 and onwards, Liebherr will produce all appliances for North America in accordance to RoHS as an important part of its global commitment to environmentally-responsible manufacturing processes. The RoHS announcement came immediately following Liebherr’s participation in Global Green USA’s Oscar® Party to raise awareness for global warming. RoHS stands for the “Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.” Liebherr will be the FIRST appliance manufacturer to comply with this practise worldwide, just as they were the FIRST to eliminate CFC’s in refrigeration in 1993. Here is the list of major hazardous substances that will not be used in the production of Liebherr products:
“Liebherr has found better, greener ways to produce quality products using materials that are less damaging and have less impact on our eco-systems,” states Marc Perez, Vice President, Liebherr North America. “Liebherr does not want to wait until compliance is mandatory. We want to take action right now,” adds Perez. RoHS compliance has already become mandatory in Europe, and will certainly become mandatory in North America in the next several years. Liebherr chooses to take the leadership role in the North American market by being proactive instead of reactive. By eliminating substances such as lead and mercury, the benefits are far-reaching now and when the product reaches the end of its life and is recycled. When designers, architects and consumers strive for healthier buildings and more sustainable design, we want Liebherr to be the first refrigeration product considered,” says Perez. “Our refrigerators not only meet and exceed Energy Star ratings for energy efficiency, but offer a smart solution for climate change and a true respect for our planet.” |
